We’ve uploaded the soft launch build!

That’s right folks, we’ve uploaded the soft launch build up onto the app store. What this means is that we’re pretty much just waiting on Apple to approve it and we’re good to go. After months of testing and balancing, I can safely say that we have a really solid game on our hands. It won’t be long now until we release the full launch, so we can’t take our foot off the pedal just yet – but I am just as excited as anyone else, really.

As I said before, a handful of countries will be participating in the soft launch. We have on our list; Australia, New Zealand and Singapore! Moving forward, we are hopeful that we will receive a positive response from these markets, and that come July, we’ll be geared up and ready for an international launch.

Essentially, with Mercenaries being a multiplayer game, it really is all about the community. We are doing our best to build a competitive environment with the game mechanics, and we hope to foster healthy competition amongst our players. So spread the word! After all, the more players the better it is for everyone really, so we’ll need all the support we can get.

So… What a week for the tech world huh. There was a whole lot of drama at E3, with both Microsoft and Playstation duking it out and Nintendo pretty much sitting out on the whole thing. Adding to that, Apple also announced the iOS 7. It certainly looks great, and it feels really good as well. Oh! I almost forgot… Facebook announced hash-tag support. #whoopee

What about us then? Well, to be honest we were  a tad worried how the huge overhaul on the iOS would affect us, but we’ll have to deal with that as it comes. #whoopee

Right, okay I promise that’s the last time I’ll use the hash-tag joke. So, yeah looks like we’re totally set for our soft launch. If everything goes according to plan, including the time it takes for apple to approve an app… it could be out on the app stores for certain as early as next week! With that said though, the soft launch will only include a small number of selected countries. Full launch of the game seems set to be in July.

Does that mean the end of the Ravenmark saga then? Nuh uh. It is our flagship title after all, and there’s a large portion of the story yet to be told. With that said, we need all the support we can get to keep the saga running. So play the game when it releases! I think the game will speak for itself though, and seeing as to how often I’m reaching out for my iPad to “beta test” the game…

My only hope is that word reaches out to the community, so spread the word!

Good news – summer’s here! Bad news… I can’t tell you the release date yet! I can tell you however, that we are pretty much good to go for our soft launch. Unfortunately only a few regions will participate in our soft launch. I’ve got some screenshots here to show you how far we’ve gotten, and how the user interface will more or less look like. I must say, we’ve cleaned it up quite a bit and I’m happy with what we have so far! So without further ado, a little something from us to you, just to whet your appetites and tease your taste buds before the release! Enjoy!

It’s me again, back with a new soundtrack for Mercenaries as well as some minor news. For those who have been following Makkre’s travels, the posts will now be updated once a day instead of twice, at GMT +8 9.30 am. Makkre’s travels is pretty jam-packed with snippets on how Eclissa has evolved from the time Scourge of Estellion ended to when Mercenaries begins, so do give it a read if you haven’t already!

As for development, we’ll be making more videos in due time, and despite several hurdles it seems like we’re still in line for a summer release. Yay us!

Now for the soundtrack! This is one of several battle soundtracks in place for Mercenaries, guaranteed to keep tensions high during matches. Hope you guys like it!

I’m really looking forward to getting in some rest this coming weekend! It’s been a pretty long week for us, and we’re all pretty knackered. Well before we skip off to the weekend, I’ve got another soundtrack for you to take a listen to. This slightly nostalgic piece, courtesy of our talented composer Xiao’an, is the music for our store, where the hiring grounds and market will be located in game. It really reminds me of the RPGs of old, although I can’t quite put a finger on it. In any case, call me a sentimental old man but I like it! With that said, I hope you guys like it too. Here it is:

It’s been a while since I’ve written to you guys, and I must admit I miss rambling on the developer blog a little. Alas, I am tasked here today to do more than just rambling. We’ve actually released two of our soundtracks for Mercenaries! Huzzah!

“Overworld” 

This soundtrack is for the main menu and well… the overworld for Ravenmark: Mercenaries!

Yes, well… I suppose we could call it something other than “Battle Theme 4″ but hey, who cares! This is one epic piece!

A shout out goes to Xiao’an Li, our talented composer for Ravenmark: Mercenaries. He’s based over in the States and is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. You can check out his other stuff here.

With that said, we’ll be uploading more content in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! The guys are all working hard to release the game as soon as possible and who knows? We may even manage to release it sooner than expected, fingers crossed!

Just a short update. So we’ve been a little busy recently, with Mercenaries right around the corner. I haven’t been able to update the dev blog as often as I’d like and I’ll rectify that in the days to come. I’m sure that most of you are eagerly (we hope) awaiting news regarding the upcoming sequel to the Ravenmark Saga and we’re looking into it as we speak.

The good news is that I do have something to tease your tastebuds with. The new Makkre blog is up! A couple of us have been working on it and it’s been revamped. Looks much more prettier than before really! It’s also set to update twice a day, at GMT+8 12 am and 9 am respectively. His posts will indirectly fill you in on the lore, so please do join Makkre as he travels the world of Eclissa in the build up to Mercenaries! You can find the link here!

Exciting stuff coming up really, and we do have lots we want to talk about. Game features, new mechanics, new commanders… the works. It’s really shaping up wonderfully, and the best part is… we still have so much planned for the game itself. It’s like a gift that keeps giving!

On a personal level, I have nothing but optimism as to how the game is going to turn out and I can’t wait til we release. Stay tuned then for more updates.
