Launch week summary!

By | Concept Art, Featured, News | No Comments

Hey there all!

Khai here from Witching Hour Studios. Full launch finally happened and it’s been a flurry of activities since then! Well, with the week gone by, I thought I’d just summarize the launch for you folks and perhaps reveal a glimmer of what else we might have in store for you. Now, of course, first up we’ll start with the fact that Ravenmark: Mercenaries has gone worldwide. If you still haven’t gotten it yet, the link is here.

In tandem with the release of Mercenaries, we haven’t forgotten the new players who have yet to get our first title. We’ve slashed half the price off Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion for a week, and it’s now available at USD $4.99. Quite a steal for over 30 hours of gameplay eh? Check it out here!

The reaction we’ve gotten this time around is much more encouraging than the firs time we released, and the fans of the game have much to do with that. Spreading by word of mouth and vouching for us. So much love! A big shout out to all those who have helped with the testing and everything else.

Oh! We released a book too! Makkre’s Travels is now available as an e-book. The novella, featuring the bard as its titular character, is a series of letters sent from the bard to his acquaintances around the world. You can have a look at the novella here! Alternatively, you can also read it on our blog here. The series of letters serve as a precursor to Ravenmark: Mercenaries, so it’s good to read up to have a glimpse of the lore!

Hmm, what’s next then… oh! Yes. We’ve been nominated on the Game of the Week Poll on Pocket Gamer! Still waiting for the results on that one…

There’s a tournament happening for Mercenaries as well on Pocket Tactics, you can check it out here!

We’ll be holding mini-tournaments in our forums as well, so please do look out for updates here.

That’s it for our summary!

Cheers guys!

Official Announcement: Mercenaries Worldwide Launch

By | Featured, News, Updates | 2 Comments

Yes that’s right folks!

You heard me right the first time. Ravenmark: Mercenaries is officially out worldwide! We know we’re a day early, but hey, that’s a good thing right? So get your iPods, iPhones, iPads and iWhatevers out and start hitting that download button. Those of us already on here are eagerly awaiting your challenge. Of course, you should take the time to explore the game first. Try some border skirmishes, get the feel of the game. You can find the link here.

In tandem with the release of Mercenaries, we’re also intending on putting out a 50%  discount for Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion at midnight in the respective app stores, for a week. So for those who have yet to pick it our first title up, please do! Completing the campaigns will unlock exclusive brigades within Ravenmark: Mercenaries, as well as expose you to the rich lore and world of the Ravenmark saga. The link to the full version of the first title is here.

For the benefit of those who have yet to visit the first game

I think what I love most about the Mercenaries is the all-new interface. I just went back to play Scourge of Estellion to help a friend out, and after having been constantly play-testing Mercenaries the past few months… the difference is simply amazing. Not to say that we had a particularly bad user interface for Scourge, but rather Mercenaries has polished up from what we had before. The overall experience of using the app was more than pleasant.

Well, yeah that’s all I wanted to say for now: that we’re super stoked that Mercenaries is out, and that we hope you enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed making it. Still, big things we have in store, and we hope with your continued support, that we can continue expanding the Ravenmark saga. Thanks guys! In the meantime, let’s revisit the trailers for Mercenaries.

**Update: We’ve also decided to change the website in a major way, to increase user experience outside of the game itself. Do have a look here!**

Progress report on the Android port

By | Featured, News, Updates | 2 Comments

Hey all!

Some of you may have seen that teaser photo I put out yesterday on Facebook and Twitter, and I just wanted to properly announce that yes, we are working on an Android port for Mercenaries, as well as one for Scourge of Estellion. While this may not have been new for most of you, that we actually managed to get an actual working build was a huge step forward.

There’s still quite a few issues we need to work on before we can release it out on Android – bugs to fix for the most part, as well as to make sure the major Android devices are able to support our game. We’re in the midst of securing some test devices for ourselves as well. As excited as I am with yesterday’s discovery, I won’t jump ahead of myself and say that we’re set for an early release – programming is rather unpredictable that way. For all you know, we could hit a brick wall months from now, and be delayed indefinitely.

From the look of things, Mercenaries will probably be out before Scourge of Estellion, but I suspect that their release dates will not be too far off from one another.

So I guess what I’m saying is that progress has been surprisingly awesome but I can’t promise you anything. We’ll definitely be trying our best to push it out for Android, in the meantime we’ll be updating you folks as much as possible.
