Weekly updates and Roundup 30th May 2012

By | News | 2 Comments

Hi guys

If you haven’t seen Ian’s update on Touch Arcade, here it is in full. (and since you were kind enough to visit the blog, I’ve added my own comments to each of the points to give you a little more insight in red)

1) We’re working on a small puzzle game you can pick up and play. It’s premise is that it’s a tactical game played at Esotre’s Academy, much like how chess is played at West Point. There’s a funky AI to go up against and live multiplayer that you can challenge friends over Game Center.ย I love this game. we have a hilarious code name for it that I unfortunately cant share. As for the AI … well, the AI has beaten me 95% of the time. It’s not pleasant, but it really gets me thinking. If people start finding it hard, we may tone down the AI or have an easy mode – depending on the situation, of course.

2) We will be releasing a free version of Ravenmark where all campaigns will be IAPs. If you havent realized by now, we pulled the Ravenmark demo app off the app store to rework it and this is the final result ๐Ÿ˜€

3) Now, since we’re doing that.. We’ll be giving our current players (You guys!) Deepwood Dragoons for free! You’ll be seeing it soon! Yay! There are a lot of new things in this campaign, including several awesome units. I’ve been told to avoid posting too many details of units here as we dont want to ruin any surprises ๐Ÿ˜‰

4) Ravenmark Multiplayer is confirmed and has been added to our schedule – most of the heavy design work has been done. It’ll be a new app with a streamlined experience. In it, you’ll be taking on the role of a mercenary captain that can play the various factions of Eclisse against each other along with async multiplayer to challenge your friends with. This. This is something to look forward to. There will be a single player aspect to it, on top of the whole multiplayer experience. People wanted both experiences in one app and we listened!

5) We’ll be creating an account system (with Facebook Connect) that will tie together all our current and future games such that your progress in one will give you perks in another. So completing a campaign in Ravenmark single player would unlock unique characters/stuff in multiplayer and the likes. Yup .. I believe this is already done and should start allowing players to unlock a few perks immediately for upcoming games ๐Ÿ˜€

(also – I now have a level 53 wizard and Ian has a level 40 monk … ha ha ha.)

So there you have it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Esotre’s Capital

By | Concept Art, Featured | 4 Comments

I thought you guys might appreciate this picture of Silvergate – Esotre’s capital city ๐Ÿ™‚ (especially since I missed last week’s weekly update due to our blog migration and the errors that followed!)

Current status on Deepwood Dragoons:
-script’s been finalized
-most of the mapwork is done
-spritework is *almost* done (there are some new units – however, getting the right look for the sprites has taken a little extra time, and we’re making sure we get the right look before using them)

We’re also about to bring in a few more on-site testers to avoid any of the bugs that plagued us the last time around. We’re looking at releasing Deepwood Dragoons at the end of June as we are working on a few other projects at the moment.

Sorry about the downtime

By | News | No Comments

Hi guys – sorry about the downtime over the last 3-4 days. We migrated to a new server and hosting provider … and some of the data got corrupted during migration. We had to revert to an older backup (and we lost some functionality through some now disabled plugins!)

I’ve got the basic site working and will work to restore all functionality over the next few days. At least the news portion part is working, so I’m back to communicating with all of you. If you notice any issues with the site – please email me or leave a comment and I’ll get it working asap ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks for your patience guys!

Weekly round and updates May17th

By | News | No Comments

Here’s this week’s update:

Ian is currently a level 13 Monk.
I have a level 16 wizard.
Everyone else has a mix of characters from level 10 to level 25.

Unfortunately, all we have is Diablo3 on the mind this weekend. Ha ha.

Also- we will be migrating servers for the blog and the main ravenmark saga page shortly, so they may go down for a short period. Don’t be alarmed – we’re simply changing providers ๐Ÿ˜€

Esotre Mortar Crew

The Esotre Mortar Crew

By | Featured, News | One Comment

Hi guys – this post is a replacement of my weekly update. I decided to post the black & white version of the mortar crews first. We have quite a few new units (including one that has become my all time newย favoriteย unit … the frogs don’t have anything on these guys!)

And without further delay …

Esotre Mortar Crew

And in other news … we should be testing our other game after some tweaks to the rules. We had a flash of inspiration last night during a round of heroscape.

Also, with Diablo3 launching next week .. I may just forget to do a weekly update .. and if I do – please forgive me in advance! I’ve waited more than 10 years! ๐Ÿ˜€ Most of us will probably be playing from the office as well!

till next week (i hope!)

Weekly updates and roundup 4th May 2012

By | News | No Comments

Hi guys

Lets of things happening at the office. Ian’s finally back at work (he has been sick for 2 weeks + now). Things are going smoothly and the script for deepwood dragoons is more or less done. Artwork needs some fine tuning and sprites are halfway done. We expect to start compiling everything within the next 2 weeks before balancing and testing begins.

Ian has a big meeting planned for monday and we will probably streamline ourselves further. The 3 projects on our plate are as follows: Ravenmark, Ravenmark Multiplayer and the untitled project.

Regarding the untitled project – chat functions seem to be working, we’ve had a few muliplayer games via bluetooth so far ย and its coming along well. i hope to show you guys something soon. However, the current prototype is u-g-l-y. We need to pretty it up somewhat before showing it off, so it may take a while.

In other news, one of our development macs broke down and needs 5 days at the apple service center to get fixed ๐Ÿ™ *sigh*

Later guys!
